Consultant, Software Test Engineering

About the role

Visa is hiring a Software Test Engineering Consultant to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for its products. The consultant leads test strategy, solution validation and delivery across projects, guides testing teams and acts as a trusted advisor to clients. At least 3 days per week must be spent in the office, with the exact expectation confirmed by the hiring manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead test strategy, solution validation and delivery, and communicate outcomes and recommendations to stakeholders
• Oversee and guide team members on testing, certification and quality activities across multiple products
• Own testing and solution readiness for assigned initiatives
• Design and review test approaches, test artifacts and validation activities
• Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis and preventative measures for technical, operational and application issues
• Act as subject matter expert on testing, certification, product capabilities and continuous improvement
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assess requirements, identify risks and recommend testing approaches
• Support test automation, self-service capabilities and process improvements, and review testing and automation deliverables
• Coach and mentor team members through knowledge sharing, training and reusable frameworks
• Participate in strategic technology initiatives and consult clients on testing and certification requirements

Required profile

• Digital fluency, including use of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot
• 3+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, or 2+ years with an advanced degree (Masters, MBA, JD, MD), or 0 years with a PhD
• Experience in payments, financial services, technology consulting, implementation, certification, client support or customer-facing technical roles is a plus
• Ability to advise clients and resolve complex integration, connectivity or payment processing issues
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities independently
