Cyber Incident Responder Specialist

About the role

Abbott is seeking a Cyber Incident Responder Specialist to join its security team in Bogotá, Colombia. The professional will investigate, analyze, and respond to security incidents across the organization’s environment, protecting critical technology assets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS and other tools to detect potential incidents.
• Perform triage, correlation and deep analysis of security events, including IOCs, malware, phishing and suspicious network behavior.
• Conduct forensic analysis on systems, networks and endpoints to determine root cause and scope.
• Develop and execute response strategies to mitigate threats and prevent recurrence.
• Support implementation, tuning and monitoring of security tools such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
• Validate and improve alerting mechanisms to reduce false positives.
• Document incidents with timelines, impact assessments and remediation actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience in incident response and security operations.
• Ability to work with moderate supervision while exercising independent judgment.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity and availability of data.
• Effective collaboration with IT, network, security engineering and business teams.
