Director, Community Building – Latin America & Caribbean

About the role
The National Audubon Society is seeking a senior leader to drive its Community Building initiatives across Latin America and the Caribbean. Reporting to the Vice President, Latin America & Caribbean, the Director will design and implement partnership programs that connect Audubon’s conservation work with local institutions, tourism operators, and university chapters.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with public‑venue partners (nature reserves, museums, etc.) to use birds as catalysts for behavior change and create sister‑center exchanges along migration flyways.
- Expand Audubon’s bird‑based tourism offerings throughout the region.
- Link regional conservation projects with U.S. Audubon Chapters for programmatic support.
- Develop and manage a next‑generation leadership program for university‑based bird conservation groups.
- Partner with the Communications team to raise the profile of bird habitat conservation in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing multi‑national partnerships and community‑focused campaigns.
- Strategic thinker with a track record of building collaborative networks.
- Strong background in conservation, environmental education, or related nonprofit sectors.
