Director of Human Resources – Medellín

About the role

The Director of Human Resources for Colombia will lead the people strategy locally, ensuring it aligns with global objectives while respecting Colombian regulations and culture. Based in Medellín, the role requires a strong hybrid presence to partner with local leaders and collaborate closely with U.S. stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR leader for Colombia, translating company and SVP‑led strategy into practical local execution.
• Adapt broader HR initiatives to Colombian legal and cultural context, ensuring compliance, credibility, and effectiveness.
• Partner with U.S. HR business partners, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Finance, Legal and business leaders to align actions across regions and resolve issues promptly.
• Provide expert guidance on Colombian employment practices and statutory requirements to global HR, payroll, and business teams.
• Drive culture, leadership and change initiatives that strengthen employee connection, accountability and alignment with company priorities.
• Coach leaders on performance expectations, feedback, documentation, talent decisions and follow‑through.
• Own employee relations in Colombia, handling complex and sensitive matters, investigations, terminations and disciplinary actions in partnership with senior HR and legal teams.
• Oversee compensation, benefits and payroll governance in collaboration with global payroll, finance and external vendors.

Required profile

• Proven ability to build trust and influence across both U.S. and Colombian teams.
• Strong judgment in translating strategy into actionable HR programs.
• Experience managing change and fostering a high‑accountability culture.
• Deep understanding of Colombian labor legislation and HR best practices.
