Director, Subject Matter Expert - AI & Data Strategy

About the role

Mastercard Services, through its Advisors organization, offers consulting, advanced analytics, AI and technology services to clients worldwide. This Director, Subject Matter Expert - AI & Data Strategy role leads the definition, articulation and communication of Data & AI strategy across Spanish-speaking Latin America at executive level, bridging market innovation, client needs and Mastercard's global AI product roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Translate AI and data capabilities into strategic narratives for C-suite audiences and shape regional Data & AI strategy.
• Bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders, turn business needs into AI and agentic architectures, and provide technical leadership and architectural governance.
• Evaluate and select AI and agentic technologies, drive best practices, ensure security, responsible AI and compliance, and guide solutions from proof of concept to production.
• Represent Mastercard at conferences and forums and work with strategic clients.
• Lead proposals, client discovery and early-stage sales cycles, and influence go-to-market strategies in a matrixed organization.
• Produce thought leadership, frameworks and regional points of view, mentor delivery teams and align with global product teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI or a related field.
• Proven experience in consulting, innovation, product strategy or front-office roles.
• Ability to speak credibly with C-level executives and strong storytelling and public communication skills.
• Advanced English (written and spoken).

Required skills

• Strong command of AI concepts, data governance versus data management and the end-to-end Data & AI value chain.
• Expertise in GenAI, LLMs, RAG, agentic AI and enterprise-scale AI solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, data integration, security and AI governance.
• Understanding of MLOps, monitoring and production deployment.
