Discovery Specialist (California Habitability Law Cases)

About the role

A fully remote Discovery Specialist supports California habitability law cases during the discovery phase of litigation. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM PST (11:30 AM to 8:30 PM Colombia time), paid $9 USD per hour. It calls for strong legal analysis, attention to detail, organization and the ability to work independently within established legal procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review discovery documents, including interrogatories, requests for admission and requests for production.
• Review complaints and case information to identify relevant issues for discovery.
• Analyze case documents to find inconsistencies, missing information and potential discovery issues.
• Follow established templates, procedures and quality standards.
• Organize and maintain case files and discovery-related documentation.
• Manage multiple cases while meeting deadlines and keeping accuracy high.
• Collaborate with the legal team on discovery tasks and assist with other legal and administrative work.

Required profile

• Law degree required; discovery experience preferred.
• C1-level English proficiency required.
• Previous experience in a law firm or legal services environment.
• Familiarity with U.S. litigation and discovery procedures, and experience drafting or reviewing discovery documents, are strong pluses but not required.
