Engineering Manager, Software Engineering

About the role

Amadeus is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its development hub in Bogotá, within the Airline Disruption Solutions business area. The manager builds and leads a team of development engineers, product definition analysts and quality engineers, working with a high degree of autonomy and some guidance from a Senior Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of staff employees, set performance objectives, conduct performance reviews and recommend pay actions
• Define a team vision aligned with department strategy and turn it into a concrete action plan
• Accountable for the budget, performance and results of a medium-sized team, and influence resource, budget and policy planning
• Share the technical and functional team roadmap and vision, and define plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
• Suggest improvements to processes, flows and operational models, and resolve production support issues and customer inquiries
• Work with software development, architecture, solutions and QA teams so systems are testable, stable, scalable and performant

• Exceptional communication skills and servant leadership, able to bridge diverse teams and cultures
• Hands-on technical approach, with strong problem-solving skills and technical acumen
• Mid/long-term vision of the activity and the business, with exposure to complex decisions
