Engineering Operations Manager

About the role

Five9, a provider of cloud contact center software, is hiring an Engineering Operations Manager for a remote position in Colombia. The role owns the tools, processes and integrations supporting the Product Engineering and Technical Program Management organization, moving from tool administration toward engineering productivity and operations, and acts as technical lead for junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Own the roadmap and architecture for Jira, Confluence, Jellyfish and future engineering tools, pushing configuration and administration toward automation and self-service.
• Build and maintain integrations between engineering systems using REST APIs, webhooks and scripting, and direct and evaluate AI-assisted SDLC work, including prompt and spec writing, output evaluation and connector development.
• Turn Jira and Jellyfish data into reliable metrics and executive reporting, and maintain the roadmap-to-delivery mapping.
• Support program and release management with tooling, data and process guidance across the SDLC.
• Define consistent tool usage patterns across engineering, product and TPgM teams and partner with engineering and product leadership to reduce workflow friction.
• Mentor junior team members through technical direction, code and configuration review and skill development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of experience in engineering operations, tooling, integrations or process management.
• Comfortable learning new technologies, evaluating AI-assisted output critically and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Required skills

• Python and REST API integration patterns (auth flows, pagination, rate limits, retry logic).
• Git and PR-based workflow.
• Practical experience using an LLM as a working tool.
• Strong written communication, from executive narrative to technical writing (specs, prompts, evaluation criteria).
• Preferred: Atlassian tools, SQL, MCP or connector development, Jellyfish, Agile and SDLC, secrets hygiene.
