Senior Software Engineer - Platform (Google Cloud)

About the role

Five9, a provider of cloud contact center software, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work remotely on its platform services. The role focuses on building highly available, highly scalable and reliable microservices for the Contact Center application, which serves demanding enterprise customers. It suits someone with strong cloud software experience, particularly on Google Cloud Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the next generation of Five9's modern SaaS platform, improving customer service through AI in the Contact Center.
• Develop highly available, highly scalable and reliable microservices.
• Apply expertise in the cloud computing stack, software technologies and open source tools to solve complex platform challenges.
• Gain deep application-level knowledge of existing systems and contribute to their design.
• Troubleshoot and provide production support as needed.
• Work with a team of peers and share a passion for what is being created.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience as part of a Java development team using the Spring Framework.
• Experience designing and building highly available and scalable applications.
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.

Required skills

• Good understanding of private and public cloud design considerations, including virtualization, global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing, networking, event processing, massive data storage and security.
• Desired: 3+ years with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Spring Cloud.
• Desired: hands-on experience with GCP products such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, App Engine and Cloud SQL.
• Desired: hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Desired: experience in a continuous delivery team deploying production applications on Google Cloud Platform.
