Full-Stack Software Development Engineer

About the role

Amadeus is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Bogota to work on its Flight Management application, a mission-critical departure control system used by more than 150 airlines. The role covers the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, and involves working closely with business and quality assurance analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business and quality assurance analysts to define the functionality needed to meet business objectives.
• Contribute to the evolution and maintainability of the Flight Management application, including regression testing.
• Take part in solution reviews and process refinement initiatives with other team members.
• Build web interfaces in Angular or React (TypeScript/JavaScript) using SPA, component-based design and monorepo patterns, alongside backend services in Java or C++.
• Write unit, integration and regression tests, using Python for regression test automation.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate services using JSON.
• Work with enterprise applications and relational databases, especially Oracle RDBMS (SQL, PL/SQL).
• Prepare and release software components, fix assigned regressions and share rotational production support.
• Investigate alternative technologies for architectural review and apply AI-assisted tooling to improve productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• More than 2 years of professional experience developing enterprise-grade software.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Angular or React, TypeScript/JavaScript, SPA architecture, monorepo tooling and UI testing.
• Object-oriented design in Java or C++, with solid concurrency and performance fundamentals.
• Python test automation (PyTest) and data handling with Oracle RDBMS (SQL); PL/SQL is a plus.
• RESTful API design, EDIFACT messaging and automated testing for high-availability systems.
