General Manager – Regulated Entity (Colombia)

About the role

ARQ is seeking a General Manager to lead its regulated entity in Colombia. You will be the accountable executive before local regulators, responsible for securing licenses and building the operational infrastructure needed for sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain licensing standing, compliance posture, and operational readiness in coordination with global teams.
• Own end‑to‑end operational management, including AML, KYC/KYB, fraud, complaints, regulatory reporting, internal controls, customer support, and audit readiness.
• Serve as primary contact for supervisory authorities, leading inspections, implementation tables, and audits.
• Drive the entity through the regulatory approval timeline from constitution to go‑live audit.
• Draft, implement, and operate local credit and risk policies aligned with regulatory expectations and ARQ’s risk appetite.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations, staffing, governance, and coordination with product and engineering teams to ensure compliant scaling.

Required profile

• 7+ years in a regulated financial institution, fintech, or financial services environment.
• Hands‑on experience with local regulatory frameworks and direct interaction with supervisory authorities.
• Proven ability to design and operationalize risk, operations, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder management with regulators, external advisors, and internal legal/compliance teams.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a rigorous due‑diligence mindset.
