Global Senior Accountant - Controllership (Teleworking, Colombia)

About the role

This Global Senior Accountant position sits within the Tools & Outdoor global team and works across the Tools & Outdoor business and the corporate finance pillars. It is a teleworking role open only to candidates based in Colombia. The account oversees global accounting for Fixed Assets and Global Supply Chain Processes accounting, and leads controllership teams on behalf of the Business Unit Controller and Assistant Business Unit Controller.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the T&O business and Corporate Accounting on accounting matters and lead controllership teams in Global T&O.
• Guide functional groups on fixed asset policies and procedures, train controllers, engineers, sourcing analysts and finance staff, and enforce SBD and T&O policies on fixed asset additions, dispositions and transfers.
• Ensure GAAP compliance for fixed assets and for capitalization of computer software, and ensure accuracy of Fixed Asset Requisitions.
• Prepare and submit CIP aging analytics and presentations for the monthly Fixed Asset report, and coordinate and compile Fixed Asset physical inventory results for month-end close.
• Coordinate periodic cycle counts for T&O HQ entities, analyze CIP balances to reduce average CIP aging, monitor idle asset memos and CIP reconciliation forms, and work to capitalize aged CIP.

Required profile

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP; CPA is a plus.
• English proficiency (C1-C2 preferred if not a native speaker).
• At least 3-5 years of experience in auditing, accounting, controllership or other financial roles.
• Experience in a U.S. multinational public company and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of MS Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP and SUMIF.
• Plus: data analytics software such as SAP, Hyperion HFM or Alteryx.
