ICT Designer - Data Centers and Commercial Facilities

About the role

AECOM Enterprise Capabilities is looking for an ICT Designer who works alongside architects, engineers and interior designers to develop integrated ICT solutions for clients, using standardized Structured Cabling Systems (SCS) best practices. The role covers data centers and commercial facilities, within a team of consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Design structured cabling systems, copper and fiber, and define cable pathways, containment and spaces for multiple service providers and redundant entry paths
• Specify rack elevations including ODFs and patch panels, and ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulations
• Develop drawings, technical specifications and bills of quantities
• Coordinate with architecture, structural, civil, electrical, mechanical, security and operations teams
• Integrate security systems, building automation, energy and power management, audiovisual solutions and other IP-based technologies
• Carry out survey, design, development and construction administration of ICT infrastructure projects, gathering and correlating engineering data
• Work within the agreed budget and schedule under supervision

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus 6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent education and experience
• Intermediate level of written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently and communicate confidently and sensitively
• Preferred: 10+ years of ICT infrastructure design experience

Required skills

• Knowledge of ICT infrastructure types and uses
• Preferred: Revit, AutoCAD, Visio Professional, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Project, Microsoft 365 suite
• Preferred: TIA cabling and data center standards, BICSI TDMM, IEEE and OSHA standards
• Preferred: BICSI RCDD certification or another active BICSI certification
