Integrated Logistics Senior Operations Manager - Cross-Border Transportation

About the role

Kuehne + Nagel is looking for an experienced Integrated Logistics Senior Operations Manager to lead its cross-border transportation operations and team within the 4PL Integrated Logistics Control Tower. The role covers international transportation flows, freight forwarding and parcel solutions, with a focus on Mexico–United States and Mexico–Canada lanes, and requires strong knowledge of U.S. road transportation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of cross-border transportation and freight forwarding operations, ensuring service quality, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee transportation flows across Road, Parcel, Air, Ocean and Multimodal solutions, and manage escalations and carrier performance.
• Monitor KPIs such as service levels, transit times, costs, carrier performance and shipment exceptions.
• Drive cost efficiency, productivity and process improvements, and ensure compliance with customs, trade and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and develop the Cross-Border Transportation & Freight Forwarding team, set objectives, coach staff and distribute workload.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in transportation, logistics or freight forwarding, preferably in complex international or cross-border environments.
• Deep understanding of U.S. road transportation and proven hands-on experience with Mexico–U.S. cross-border operations; Mexico–Canada experience highly desirable.
• Experience managing multiple modes, freight forwarding, carrier management, routing and shipment execution.
• Knowledge of U.S. transportation geography, regulations and restrictions, and of Mexico–U.S. trade and customs requirements.
• Familiarity with CTPAT and IMMEX is highly desirable.
• Proven experience leading and developing operational teams, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong professional English is mandatory; Portuguese is a significant advantage.
