Junior Credit Specialist / Credit Specialist

About the role

AJC International is looking for a highly skilled, detail-oriented Junior Credit Specialist / Credit Specialist to join its ISA-Helix Credit & Risk Management team in Medellin. The role supports credit and collections activities, manages customer credit exposure, drives collections performance and ensures sound risk assessment. It suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can build effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct credit risk assessments on customers, including financial statement analysis, cash flow evaluation and market/industry risk review.
• Recommend credit limits and terms aligned with company risk policies.
• Monitor accounts receivable exposure, identify high-risk accounts and implement mitigation strategies.
• Drive proactive collections, including direct customer engagement to resolve overdue balances.
• Work with Commercial, Logistics, Treasury and Finance teams on customer risk strategies and dispute resolution.
• Prepare credit reports and dashboards for management decisions.
• Support compliance with policies, controls and regulatory requirements.
• Mentor junior team members when needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Recent graduate or at least one year of experience in credit and collections.
• Strong financial analysis skills, with proven ability to read balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
