Junior Storage Infrastructure Specialist (L1) - IBM DS8000

About the role

A Junior Storage Infrastructure Specialist (L1) is needed in Bogotá, Colombia, on a hybrid basis, working full-time on a contract. The role provides day-to-day support for enterprise storage and SAN environments, working alongside senior engineers to monitor, troubleshoot and maintain IBM DS8000 storage, SAN switches, replication and IBM i/AS400 environments.

Required profile

• Junior storage professional with practical exposure to IBM DS8000, SAN, IBM i/AS400 and storage replication.
• Comfortable with monitoring and basic troubleshooting, and willing to work closely with senior storage engineers in a production environment.
• Good troubleshooting and communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic hands-on experience with IBM DS8000 / DS8K.
• Understanding of Metro Mirror / Global Mirror.
• Knowledge of IBM i / AS400 environments.
• Basic knowledge of Cisco MDS or Brocade SAN switches, and of SAN zoning and Fibre Channel.
• Storage monitoring and troubleshooting; disaster recovery and replication concepts.
• Preferred: IBM Copy Services Manager (CSM), PowerHA, shell, Python or Ansible, ITIL knowledge or certification, and experience in banking or financial services environments.
