Legal Operations and Data Integration Engineer

About the role

A plaintiff-side personal injury firm, headquartered in California, is hiring a remote engineer to own the systems that capture its data, metrics, KPIs and marketing spend. The firm uses a connected stack of tools (Domo, Filevine, Lead Docket and AI tools such as Claude) and needs someone who sets up, codes, connects and keeps these systems running. It is a hands-on builder role, not a help-desk position.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrations across Filevine, Lead Docket, Domo and AI tools using REST APIs, webhooks and native connectors.
• Filevine: use the API (v2), webhook subscriptions and the Data Connector to pull case, project, contact and financial data into the reporting layer.
• Lead Docket: configure the native Filevine sync, phase and field mapping, the open API and webhooks, and build lead-source tracking and marketing ROI reporting.
• Marketing attribution: set up UTM parameters so the source of each prospect is captured and carried through to Lead Docket and Domo, enabling cost per lead and cost per case by channel.
• Domo: ingest data via connectors, the Streams API and custom connectors, build Magic ETL dataflows and Beast Mode calculations, design dashboards and cards, and manage scheduled reports, governance and access.
• AI and Claude: build automation and AI-assisted workflows using the Anthropic API, including prompt engineering, document automation and connecting Claude to other systems.
• Translate requirements into documented systems, monitor data pipelines for accuracy and uptime, and document configurations so the firm does not depend on tribal knowledge.
• Maintain strict data security, access controls and confidentiality.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining API integrations (REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks).
• Hands-on coding in Python and/or JavaScript, plus working knowledge of SQL.
• Experience building dashboards and reports in a business intelligence platform; Domo experience is strongly preferred, but Tableau, Power BI or Looker with a willingness to learn Domo is considered.
• Experience designing and maintaining ETL or data pipelines.
• Track record of turning business requirements into working systems independently.
• Working knowledge of marketing attribution and UTM tracking, and of handling confidential information securely.
• Preferred: Filevine and/or Lead Docket experience, AI or LLM integration (Anthropic/Claude) experience, law firm or legal industry background, familiarity with integration platforms (Workato, Zapier, Make) and cloud storage (AWS S3, Azure Blob), and Domo Developer toolset or CLI experience.
