Lien Negotiator (Remote) - Personal Injury

About the role

A client of HireHawk, a remote staffing platform connecting professionals with U.S. and Canadian employers, is looking for an experienced Lien Negotiator to work remotely. The role manages medical and third-party liens across personal injury cases from identification through final resolution, with an active caseload and minimal supervision. Pay is USD $1,200-$1,300 per month depending on performance.

Key responsibilities

• Own the lien resolution process across an active portfolio of personal injury cases.
• Identify, document and track medical, insurance, government and third-party liens throughout the case lifecycle.
• Negotiate lien reductions with hospitals, medical providers, insurers, Medicare, Medicaid and other lienholders to maximise client net recovery.
• Request, review and validate lien statements, billing records, balances and supporting documents before settlement.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies, duplicate charges and incorrect balances that could delay or reduce disbursement.
• Coordinate with case managers and attorneys to keep lien resolution aligned with settlement timelines.
• Prepare accurate lien summaries and final figures for settlement disbursement and keep lien files organised in Filevine and other firm systems.

Required profile

• Proven personal injury lien negotiation experience (mandatory).
• Demonstrated success negotiating lien reductions and improving client net settlement recovery.
• Experience in personal injury settlement and disbursement workflows.
• Professional fluency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently, meeting deadlines with high accuracy.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, hospital, medical provider and insurance-related liens.
• Negotiation, written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Nice to have: hands-on Filevine experience, remote support of U.S. personal injury law firms, and familiarity with lien reporting and settlement statements.
