Mobile Tester Specialist (Android & iOS)

About the role

ScotiaTech, Scotiabank's technology hub in Bogota, is looking for a Mobile Tester Specialist to ensure the functional, visual and user-experience quality of Android and iOS mobile applications. The role covers the planning, execution and documentation of manual testing so that products meet established standards and give end users an optimal experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design and run manual test cases for Android and iOS apps, including functional, regression and smoke tests.
• Validate compatibility across devices, screen resolutions, operating systems and OS versions.
• Report defects with clear traceability, reproduction steps, evidence and environment details.
• Prepare test data and set up mobile testing environments, including emulators, simulators and physical devices.
• Take part in refinement sessions and daily stand-ups to understand acceptance criteria.
• Document test results in Jira and Xray and maintain test cases according to templates and workflows.
• Perform basic performance and resource consumption testing (CPU, memory, battery, network) and check basic security aspects such as permissions, secure storage and headers.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners and UX teams to clarify requirements.

Required profile

• Secondary education completed (mandatory); a technical college or university degree in a technology field is preferred, even if incomplete.
• 1-2 years of experience in QA or manual testing roles.
• Experience in mobile projects with Android and iOS, functional testing and defect reporting.
• Experience in Agile projects and working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Desirable: technical certifications in testing, test automation or QA.

Required skills

• Manual testing of Android and iOS apps, functional, regression, smoke and exploratory testing.
• Jira and Xray for test case and defect management.
• Agile methods, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Desirable: performance testing, usability and accessibility testing, and basic network testing tools.
