Network Administrator

About the role

Softtek Colombia is looking for an experienced Network Administrator to design, implement, and maintain a secure and high‑performance enterprise network. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with IT teams across Colombia and Mexico to ensure reliable communications and data protection.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and optimise LAN/WAN infrastructure, including VLANs, QoS, and routing protocols.
• Administer Cisco switching and routing devices, as well as Palo Alto firewalls.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain DNS, DHCP, IP addressing schemes and ensure network security policies are enforced.
• Manage configuration backups, remote‑access tools, and network documentation.
• Support hybrid and cloud networking environments and assist with automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of enterprise network administration experience.
• Upper‑intermediate English proficiency.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on preventing service interruptions.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid setting across multiple locations.

Required skills

• TCP/IP, OSI model, VLANs, QoS, DNS, DHCP, IP addressing.
• Cisco switching & routing, static and dynamic routing protocols.
• Palo Alto firewall administration.
• HSRP, 802.1Q trunking, VTP.
• LAN/WAN troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
• Remote‑access tools, configuration backup procedures.
• Citrix NetScaler (ADC) – nice to have.
• VoIP and SIP knowledge – nice to have.
• Enterprise wireless networking – nice to have.
• CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, PCNSE certifications – nice to have.
• Monitoring and automation tools – nice to have.
• Hybrid/cloud networking concepts – nice to have.
