Operations Manager 2 - O&M Sites

About the role

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, building systems, energy efficiency and decarbonization, is hiring an Operations Manager 2 in Bogota, Colombia. The role leads operations and maintenance (O&M) activities for customer sites, with responsibility for team coordination, client communication and reliable service delivery. The manager oversees day-to-day O&M execution, including mechanical operations, programming, monitoring and alarm response.

Key responsibilities

• Execute O&M contract sites and supervise staff assigned to mechanical operations, programming, monitoring, alarm response and related contracted activities.
• Communicate with the client and the O&M team about contract execution issues, service priorities and follow-up actions.
• Hire, train and schedule staff to meet contractual obligations and operational coverage needs.
• Maintain and update assigned systems, including HVAC, mechanical, fire and security systems.
• Develop employee training and development plans to strengthen team capability and service consistency.
• Prepare regular management reports and give clear status updates on operational performance.
• Support 24/7 on-call emergency assistance when required.
• Ensure work complies with applicable licensing and certification requirements.

Required profile

• Experience in operations, maintenance or facilities management.
• Experience supervising staff in a technical or service environment.
• Experience coordinating with clients and supporting contract execution.
• Ability to hire, train and schedule staff, prepare management reports and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to support emergency or on-call service and understanding of licensing and certification requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or OT systems.
• Experience in high-tech facilities or multi-site operations.
• Exposure to electronic security, video, access control, fire detection or intrusion systems.
• Experience developing employee training plans or team development programs.
