Packaging Engineer

About the role

Colgate-Palmolive is seeking an innovative Packaging Engineer to lead end‑to‑end packaging development for new product innovations, sustainability initiatives, and cost‑optimization projects. The role sits within the Global Design and Packaging team and works closely with Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize, engineer and launch primary and secondary packaging concepts, ensuring technical feasibility and brand alignment.
• Define technical specifications for a wide range of materials including resins, bottles, closures, films, cartons, labels and adhesives.
• Manage cross‑functional timelines from ideation through pilot testing to commercial launch, guaranteeing on‑time delivery.
• Lead Funding the Growth (FTG) initiatives to reduce material usage and improve total delivered cost without compromising quality.
• Drive sustainable packaging projects, integrating recyclable and post‑consumer recycled (PCR) materials.
• Partner with suppliers and plant teams to source novel technologies and improve packaging line runnability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Science or related field.
• 5+ years experience in CPG or pharmaceutical packaging, with at least 3 years in packaging development or structural design.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
• Proven track record in packaging sustainability and cost‑optimization projects.
