Paralegal

About the role

The Paralegal will work closely with legal support staff and attorneys to prepare immigration applications and provide client support. This position involves handling a wide range of humanitarian immigration cases and conducting final reviews before matters are escalated to attorneys.

Key responsibilities

• Learn and apply processes for VAWA, T‑Visa, U‑Visa, family cases, Med‑DA, naturalization, and other immigration case types.
• Review and revise application packets, forms, and exhibits upon attorney request.
• Develop operational plans for rejections, work permit renewals, corrections, and supplements.
• Answer live client calls, identify escalation needs, and communicate complex legal information clearly.
• Conduct legal and factual research, prepare training materials, and assist with overflow attorney tasks.

Required profile

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Prior paralegal experience, preferably in humanitarian immigration.
• Experience in a high‑volume immigration environment is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Required skills

• Legal database software (e.g., Salesforce, Litify).
• Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
