Port Dispatcher

About the role

The Port Dispatcher is a full‑time remote position responsible for coordinating daily truck movements to and from ports and terminals. You will schedule pickups and deliveries, assign loads to drivers, and monitor shipment status while ensuring compliance with port and carrier requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and assign loads to drivers, coordinating pickups and deliveries at ports and terminals.
• Monitor shipment status, track containers, and update transportation management systems.
• Communicate regularly with drivers, port personnel, and customers to resolve issues and manage delays.
• Maintain accurate dispatch records and support efficient route planning to meet timelines.

Required profile

• Strong dispatching and logistics coordination experience, preferably with port or drayage operations.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and port staff.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with transportation or dispatch software (TMS).
• Experience using spreadsheets and basic data‑entry tools.
