PreSales Engineer

About the role

VTEX is looking for a PreSales Engineer (also called Sales Solution Engineer) in Medellin to support its Sales team. The role combines technical and multifunctional skills, works closely with development and professional services teams, highlights business benefits to prospective customers, defines project scopes, creates technical proposals and ensures solution scalability. The team focuses on sales planning and understanding partner needs. You must attend the office 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday) and work remotely on Fridays.

Key responsibilities

• Provide in-depth technical expertise during pre-sales engagements and build customer confidence in VTEX solutions.
• Work with strategic partners to develop tailored proposals for leads.
• Develop architectural and business solutions aligned with customer needs and the VTEX platform.
• Prepare project scopes, technical proposals and pricing structures.
• Advise customers on platform integration models and best practices.
• Bridge prospective clients and internal teams, turning client needs into actionable development plans.
• Propose scalable solutions and simplify complex technical challenges for customers, partners and internal teams.
• Educate stakeholders and customers on platform features and act as owner of the demos.
• Monitor the success of proposed solutions and adjust them to ensure customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer, Pre-sales Engineer, Customer Success or similar role.
• Proven experience managing enterprise-level customer accounts.
• Experience building relationships across all levels of management, internally and externally.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to quickly win audience confidence.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• A tech and math mindset, a customer-focused approach, entrepreneurial spirit and proactive attitude.

Nice to have

• Deep knowledge of HTML, XML, JavaScript, CSS, React, GraphQL and Node.
• Experience using AI and automation to streamline pre-sales processes.
