Principal Experience Designer (Remote, Colombia)

About the role

A hands-on Principal Experience Designer is sought to turn complicated enterprise systems and fragmented workflows into coherent, intuitive experiences. The role combines experience architecture, interaction design and exploration of AI-enabled capabilities, working with Product Management, Engineering, Experience Research, Content Design and other designers. It is a senior individual contributor role, 100% remote in Colombia, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm local time.

Key responsibilities

• Model end-to-end workflows across systems and define experience structures that reduce friction without hiding complexity
• Frame ambiguous problems and deliver interaction models, high-fidelity interfaces, realistic prototypes and specifications that engineering can implement
• Design complex multi-step interactions, permissions, loading and empty states, confirmations, errors and recovery
• Create contextual assistance, recommendations and automation with clear boundaries, explaining system actions and preserving user control
• Use research, usability evaluation and product feedback to refine designs
• Partner across disciplines to set design priorities, resolve trade-offs and establish interaction patterns

Required profile

• Portfolio showing principal-level impact on complex product experiences, including interaction design and experience architecture
• Track record designing information-rich business applications with interconnected workflows and technical constraints
• Ability to reason about intelligent system behaviors such as recommendations, automation, transparency, accessibility and error recovery
• Experience using evidence to evaluate solutions and collaborate with Product and Engineering

Required skills

• Figma or comparable professional design and prototyping tools, with high-fidelity interactive prototypes
• Systems thinking and experience architecture
• Generative AI, conversational, agentic or adaptive product experience design is a plus; prior generative AI product experience is valued but not required
