QA Engineer - Airport Management System (AMS)

About the role

Amadeus is hiring a QA Engineer for its Airport Management System (AMS) team in Bogota. AMS delivers solutions for airports focused on schedule, flight and airport resource management, helping airlines and airports manage turnarounds and schedules more efficiently. The role combines testing with mentoring and technical guidance for the team.

Key responsibilities

• Define the test strategy and test plan with functional and non-functional test cases, ensuring traceability to specifications and customer requirements
• Prepare test environments and data, run tests and give go/no-go sign-off on features against exit criteria
• Keep regression and CI/CD test suites up to date and investigate and test production bug fixes
• Automate test scripts where needed and contribute to the automation framework
• Manage defects, assign severity, check fixes and report on testing progress to developers, product analysts and stakeholders
• Mentor newcomers, share knowledge and promote QA best practices
• Propose improvements to quality processes and help measure the environmental impact of tested applications

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent field
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience, including mentoring others
• Experience with Jira, Scrum and Agile methodologies
• Excellent oral and written communication and analytical problem-solving skills

Required skills

• Proficiency in automation testing and familiarity with Git
• Advantageous: Jenkins, Octane, Confluence, Selenium, travel domain knowledge, NoSQL (Couchbase), OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker
• Development stack: Java/Spring/Hibernate/Microservices, JBoss, Oracle, Microsoft Azure (not expected to be proficient)
