Risk Manager (2LoD, Model Risk Validation)

About the role

Amazon’s Risk & Compliance organization is looking for a Model Risk Manager to implement the model risk management framework, support governance activities and perform independent model validation. You will work with Legal, Compliance Tech, Operations, 1LoD Risk and business teams to understand, validate and mitigate risks of AI/ML models that drive critical decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive vision and execution of AI/ML model governance and compliance activities.
• Assist in managing AI/ML risk processes in line with regulatory requirements.
• Maintain an inventory of AI/ML use cases, evidence of review and approval.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture and data scientists to create a comprehensive AI/ML intake process.
• Develop and deliver training on AI/ML risk processes and controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics).
• 4+ years experience working with or evaluating AI systems.
• 3+ years experience in internal audit, risk management or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including presenting to senior management.

Required skills

• Experience with massively parallel data processing technologies such as Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark or Hadoop.
• Knowledge of AI/ML model risk validation and governance.
