Senior Accountant – General Ledger (Hybrid, Bogotá)

About the role

Monks Marketing Services is looking for a Senior Accountant to own General Ledger (GL) maintenance, financial reconciliations, and month‑end close activities. The role is hybrid, based in Bogotá, and supports the company’s AI‑driven transformation projects for Fortune 100 clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including expense accruals, pre‑payments and adjustments.
• Review GL activity, identify misclassifications or errors, and execute corrective actions.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and weekly credit‑card reconciliations.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, record additions/disposals and reconcile depreciation.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and resolve differences with sister agencies.
• Review employee expense reports, process corporate travel expenses via Navan, and manage the employee‑expenses Slack channel.
• Set up new team members in Expensify and provide training resources.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot ledger errors and resolve complex discrepancies.
• Experience in GL accounting, month‑end close, and audit support.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
