Senior Accountant – Global Business Services

About the role

SGS is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Global Business Services (GBS) Shared Services Center in Bogotá. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end Record‑to‑Report processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting internal customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform revenue download, reconciliation, and allocation of customer payments, including COD accounts.
• Maintain accounts receivable, process credit notes, and ensure all transactions are cleared before bank reconciliation.
• Prepare and post journal entries for assigned subsidiaries and produce standard GL, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and intercompany reports.
• Execute periodic month‑end close activities, manage the closing schedule, and communicate trial balances to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with auditors, support audit activities, and ensure compliance with quality control standards.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or related field.
• 3‑4 years of experience in accounting, preferably within a Shared Services Center or accounting firm.
• English at B2 conversational level and ability to work with local clients and suppliers.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Oracle E‑Business Suite or similar ERP systems.
