Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will apply GAAP to produce accurate financial statements and reporting for a public company in a fast‑paced event marketing environment. Reporting to the Controller, the role balances technical accounting work with cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and schedules to meet reporting deadlines.
• Enter and review journal entries ensuring GAAP compliance.
• Organise management reports, account reconciliations and variance analyses for multiple business units.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes in line with Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements.
• Review and approve purchasing card transactions and sales‑use tax calculations.
• Assist with revenue accruals, forecasting, budget updates and loading data into OneStream and Cognos.
• Prepare audit documentation and working‑capital analyses.
• Manage credit requests for new clients and vendors and act as backup for offshore AP team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or Chartered Accountant preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in financial systems, budgeting, reporting and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, especially revenue recognition.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and communicate effectively.

• Experience with OneStream and Cognos analytics tools
