Senior Analyst, AI & Data Governance

About the role

Mastercard's Enterprise Data Governance team is looking for a Senior Analyst, AI & Data Governance to help enable data governance across the enterprise through a federated stewardship model. The role reports to a Director, AI & Data Governance and focuses on assessing governance readiness and maturity within business teams and data domains, refining the Enterprise Data Governance framework and supporting data stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Assess data governance readiness and maturity of business teams and data domains, collect and review evidence, track metrics and KPIs, identify gaps and follow remediation through closure.
• Prepare governance readiness and maturity reports for leadership, highlighting trends, risks and recommended actions.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, Privacy and Internal Audit on control testing, risk assessments and audits, providing documentation and evidence of adherence.
• Review and recommend improvements to policies, standards, procedures, guidance and training on managing data and AI assets in line with compliance and responsible use.
• Help implement and continuously improve the data governance framework as data and AI practices evolve.
• Support the federated data stewardship model and build stewardship playbooks, templates, procedures and job aids.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field; CDMP or similar certification is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in data governance, risk management and compliance monitoring.
• Self-starter who works independently, takes ownership and balances hands-on work with continuous improvement.
• Ability to turn policy and standard requirements into practical procedures and monitoring activities.
• CEFR English C1 (Advanced) or equivalent.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of data governance and data management, including frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK.
• Metadata management: business and technical metadata, glossaries, critical data elements, classification and lineage; data catalog platform experience is a plus.
• Change management foundation and strong communication skills across teams.
