Senior Back End Developer (Python/Golang & AI Integration)

About the role

CI&T is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and scale high‑performance backend services while integrating AI capabilities such as LLMs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation and tool calling into modern distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Go and Python, applying microservices and event‑driven architecture principles.
• Integrate LLM capabilities into backend services, implementing RAG pipelines, tool calling and AI orchestration patterns.
• Build and integrate cloud‑native services on Microsoft Azure, using APIM, Service Bus, Event Hubs, PostgreSQL, SQL and related Azure components.
• Implement distributed caching strategies with Redis and optimise service performance, scalability and resource utilisation.
• Design resilient architectures with fault tolerance, retries, timeouts and robust error‑handling for reliable distributed AI‑enabled workflows.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Go (Golang) and Python development.
• Solid understanding of microservices, event‑driven systems and resilient service design.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/LLM integration, RAG pipelines and tool‑calling mechanisms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services and cloud‑native architecture.
• Experience with SAP integration (S/4HANA, OData, IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, APIs) and related middleware.
