Senior Data Platform Engineer - Snowflake

About the role

AgileEngine is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based enterprise data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. The role covers the LatAm coverage window, with full availability from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Pacific Time and participation in an agreed on-call rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership of the Data Platform service tower during the LatAm coverage window, including day-to-day operations, complex troubleshooting and L2/L3 escalations.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments, including warehouse configuration, performance monitoring, object lifecycle and environment hygiene.
• Administer data access under established controls, keeping least privilege and audit-ready practices.
• Manage data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR and custom pipelines, including connectors, scheduling, schema changes, backfills and failure recovery.
• Design, build and maintain reliable pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED and CONSUMPTION layers, with testing, documentation, lineage and CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and Argo Workflows and Kubernetes-hosted workloads in coordination with Cloud / DevOps.
• Define data quality and observability standards, expand monitoring and lineage, and lead major data incidents and root-cause analysis.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations, drive standardization and automation, and mentor middle-level engineers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Experience mentoring engineers and working with Cloud / DevOps, Analytics, Security, Governance and business stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal English, with the ability to work directly with client stakeholders.
• Full availability for the stated hours and on-call rotation.

Required skills

• Snowflake, advanced SQL and dbt.
• Fivetran or HVR ingestion, AWS S3, Argo Workflows on Kubernetes, Python.
• Nice to have: data observability platform, Tableau Cloud, Terraform, CI/CD, Jira/Freshservice, HIPAA/GDPR controls.
