Senior Kubernetes Engineer

About the role

The Senior Kubernetes Engineer will own and evolve StoneX’s Kubernetes platform, ensuring it remains scalable, reliable, and secure. Working closely with development, security, and operations teams, you will drive automation, improve developer experience, and support day‑to‑day platform operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, operate, and continuously improve Kubernetes clusters (Rancher/RKE2 or AKS), covering upgrades, scaling, performance tuning, cost management, backups, and high‑availability.
• Lead automation initiatives using Terraform, Helm/Kustomize, and CI/CD pipelines, delivering reusable self‑service onboarding and golden‑path workflows.
• Own GitOps implementation with Argo CD, including digest‑pinned deployments, policy‑as‑code, image signing, SBOM integration, drift detection, and rollback strategies.
• Define and enforce container supply‑chain security and registry governance (ACR), establishing promotion models and immutability controls.
• Set observability standards: SLOs, alerting, dashboards, and capacity hygiene across all clusters.
• Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and security leaders on platform adoption, incident response, runbooks, and long‑term roadmap planning.
• Mentor engineers, influence design decisions, and contribute to platform roadmap.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Platform, SRE, or DevOps roles with deep production Kubernetes expertise.
• Proven track record of owning complex systems and driving platform‑level initiatives.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
