Senior Platform Engineer

About the role

Arkestro is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to build and scale the core infrastructure supporting its growth. The role covers designing reliable platform services, managing cloud resources on AWS and Kubernetes, and working with service mesh technologies to keep systems performant and secure. It also involves distributed architecture and AI-native development tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable and reliable platform services to support the company's growth.
• Measure, monitor and optimize system performance, identify bottlenecks and implement infrastructure-level improvements.
• Manage cloud resources and service boundaries, ensuring security and operational excellence.
• Implement best practices, methodologies and tools to optimize the development process and increase efficiency.
• Communicate with stakeholders, including senior leadership, on project status, risks and issues.

Required profile

• 4+ years of server development in Python or TypeScript.
• 3+ years of API design and development, including REST/gRPC.
• 2+ years of AWS and Kubernetes, with service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd or Cilium.
• 2+ years building advanced architectural components such as service registry, streaming, event bus, distributed caching and federated/polyglot persistence.
• 6+ months with LLMs, prompt engineering, harness engineering or AIOps tooling, and 6+ months of SDLC AI-native usage via tools like Claude Code or Claude Cowork.
• Upper-intermediate English, excellent communication skills, ability to learn quickly and a desire for ownership.
