Senior QA Engineer

About the role

Amadeus is looking for a Senior QA Engineer in Bogota to develop and execute automated tests that prevent production errors and thoroughly test products before release. The role sits within a team that oversees software development for customers on top of Amadeus products, and is part of an international, multicultural QA team working worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Attend specification and architecture reviews and give feedback on risks, issues and gaps.
• Define test strategy and test plans with functional and non-functional test cases, ensuring traceability to specifications and customer requirements.
• Design test cases, prepare test environments and data, run tests and sign off features against exit criteria.
• Keep regression test suites up to date and assess whether to add, update or remove test cases.
• Deep dive into customer bug reports, test fixes and enrich test suites; assess and automate subsets of tests with the test automation framework.
• Report defects with severity, investigate them, check fixes and give go/no-go for production releases.
• Communicate test activities, milestones and quality status to developers, product analysts and stakeholders.
• Mentor newcomers, share knowledge and propose improvements to quality processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in QA or development.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Experience in agile methodology and good understanding of testing methodologies and industry standards.

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of automation frameworks such as Robot Framework and Playwright.
• Programming: Python, TypeScript, Java, JavaScript.
• Test management tools (e.g. Octane) and GitHub repositories.
• BDD practices and Visual Studio on the .NET framework.
