Senior Quality Engineer I

About the role

Zimmer Biomet is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer I to support its global medical‑technology operations. You will be responsible for gathering factual data, assessing regulatory impacts, and solving quality‑related problems across product lines.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyze information to resolve quality issues and support decision‑making.
• Assess the impact of new and existing standards and regulations on the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Plan, lead, and sequence projects with realistic timelines.
• Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, and external experts to achieve quality goals.
• Review and update QMS procedures, formulate specifications, and implement required changes.
• Develop and execute corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans using root‑cause analysis tools such as 5 Why and Ishikawa.
• Apply statistical sampling methods to verify effectiveness of actions.
• Provide technical support during internal and external audits and assist the audit response team.

Required profile

• Strong teamwork orientation with the ability to build relationships across functions and with external partners.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for multiple audience levels.
• Experience interpreting QSR/ISO regulations, design assurance, and product testing methods.

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Knowledge of QSR and ISO regulations
• Design assurance and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Product testing methods
• Use of optical comparators and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
• Statistics and process control
• Root‑cause analysis tools (5 Why, Ishikawa)
• Statistical sampling techniques
