Senior Salesforce Administrator

About the role

8am is looking for a Senior Salesforce Administrator to own the configuration, design and functionality of the Salesforce platform used daily by Sales, Marketing and Customer Operations. The role is remote and based in Colombia, and the administrator acts as escalation point for complex issues and a key voice in shaping the systems strategy as the company grows.

Key responsibilities

• Own the configuration, support and customization of the Salesforce instance and its integrations, and act as escalation point for complex issues.
• Lead the Salesforce roadmap with business and technical stakeholders, from discovery to launch, balancing quick wins with long-term platform health.
• Serve as subject matter expert in business process design, identifying gaps and redesigning processes so Salesforce supports them.
• Set standards for a scalable, governed org architecture (data model, page layouts, validation rules, automation) and guide the team in applying them.
• Build with Flow and declarative tools first, and partner with developers or contribute to Apex and Lightning Web Components when code is the better fit.
• Own security design across profiles, roles, permission sets and sharing settings, and lead periodic access reviews.
• Coach and mentor junior admins through design reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing.
• Lead complex, cross-functional projects from scoping to delivery, and define and improve the change management process.
• Ensure release quality through testing standards and functional, regression and UAT testing, and set up sandbox strategy and deployment practices.
• Monitor data quality and system health, trace issues to root cause and implement permanent fixes.
• Keep documentation current, build training, stay on top of Salesforce releases and recommend improvements.
• Identify and adopt practical AI capabilities in Salesforce and beyond to improve admin productivity and user outcomes.

Required profile

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Administrator; Administrator certification preferred, Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder or Consultant certifications a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring junior team members and leading projects or initiatives.
• Strong business analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping and translating team needs into testable solutions.
• Ability to diagnose issues to root cause, prioritize competing requests and deliver lasting fixes.

Required skills

• Expert command of Flow and declarative tools, with scalable, maintainable automation.
• Working knowledge of Apex and Lightning Web Components, enough to review code and understand governor limits.
• Deep understanding of the Salesforce data and security models.
• API-based integrations, including design, monitoring and troubleshooting, plus release management (sandbox strategy, Salesforce DX or change sets, Git-based workflows).
• Curiosity about AI and demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve workflows and decision-making.
