Senior Software Developer III - Remote Colombia

About the role

Caseware, a Canadian fintech company behind audit and accounting software used by hundreds of thousands of professionals, is hiring a Senior Software Developer III for a fully remote position based in Colombia. You act as a technical leader within your team and across the engineering organization: shaping architecture and design, raising engineering quality, mentoring developers and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders. The role also involves guiding agentic-AI tools, reviewing designs and influencing how the platform evolves.

Key responsibilities

• Create architecture, prototypes and design proposals aligned with the product and platform vision, and champion proposals through the SDLC.
• Influence technical direction through architecture reviews, RFCs and design discussions, and break large initiatives into parallelizable work.
• Mentor developers through design reviews, joint agentic-AI sessions and feedback on skills and prompts.
• Use AI-assisted development tools daily, critically evaluate AI-generated output, and help set safe, effective team practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, observability, monitoring and incident response, and keep technical documentation current.
• Represent the team with Tech Leads, Operations, Product, Security and domain experts.
• Build and operate the AWS AgentCore Gateway layer, including the target registry, inbound surface, on-premise connectivity, session and scope propagation, and OpenAPI contracts.
• Implement outbound authorization (IAM/SigV4, OAuth) and versioning of gateway targets, and support end-to-end tracing and SLOs.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience; 8+ years of professional software development.
• Proven experience with distributed, cloud-native, SaaS/multi-tenant platforms, ideally on AWS.
• Experience mentoring developers and influencing architectural decisions.
• Experience with MCP (Model Context Protocol) for LLM agents, and with multi-tenant gateways, authorization propagation and persistent/streaming connections.
• English at high B2 level.

Required skills

• Node.js/TypeScript, AWS Lambda, AWS Bedrock, AWS AgentCore Gateway.
• OpenAPI, REST/GraphQL, HTTP APIs, MCP, A2A.
• Nice to have: AWS CDK, CloudFormation or Terraform, and experience with regulated or compliance-heavy domains.
