Senior Structural Engineer

About the role

The Senior Structural Engineer will join the Project Delivery Group to provide engineering services for heavy industrial projects, primarily in the mining sector. The role involves designing concrete foundations and structural steel systems, conducting layout development and structural analysis, and supporting both front‑end planning and detailed engineering phases.

Key responsibilities

• Assist Engineering and Project Managers in delivering project scope, cost, and schedule for large projects.
• Lead a structural team to deliver small‑to‑medium projects, managing scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Manage small structural sustaining capital projects and ensure safety and integrity principles are applied in all documentation.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical specifications, and engineering drawings for concrete and steel structures.
• Conduct client interactions, site investigations, inspections, and rehabilitation design work.
• Provide input to engineering, operating, and capital cost estimates.
• Prepare and contribute to technical design or inspection memos and reports.
• Review and seal project specifications, design criteria, and drawings as required.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in heavy industrial and mining projects.
• Proven ability to design concrete foundations and structural steel systems.
• Experience with layout development, structural analysis, and detailed engineering.
• Strong background in supervising designers and junior engineers.
• Ability to interact with clients, conduct site investigations, and produce rehabilitation designs.
