Principal Pavement Engineer – Linear Infrastructure & Site Civils

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Principal Pavement Engineer to lead and contribute to highway, urban road and airport infrastructure projects in Bogotá, enhancing technical delivery from concept through detailed design.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop pavement designs for highways, urban roads, streets, parking areas and airport projects from concept through detailed design.
• Perform analyses for flexible, rigid and composite pavement structures using advanced design software.
• Prepare design reports, technical documentation, specifications and quantity take‑offs, ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (geometric design, drainage, structures, lighting) and participate in client and authority meetings for design validation.
• Supervise CAD designers and modelers, providing technical support and reviewing deliverables for consistency and schedule compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with at least 6 years of pavement design experience.
• Valid professional engineering license and intermediate or higher level of technical English.
• Proven ability to deliver designs up to detailed construction documentation level.
• Experience with international and Colombian pavement design standards (ASTM, AASHTO, FAA).

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with AASHTO pavement design software.
• Advanced proficiency with FAARFIELD pavement design software.
• Experience using mechanistic pavement design and analysis tools.
• Experience with software for back‑calculation of pavement material properties.
• Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO and FAA pavement standards.
