Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role

Amadeus is hiring Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) in Bogota to join its global teams supporting mission-critical airline platforms and systems. The role focuses on system reliability, availability, scalability and performance, with automation and operational excellence across distributed environments. It welcomes SREs with different technical backgrounds and all levels of experience, including cloud-native, platform and application-focused reliability engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure high availability, scalability and resilience of production systems, and run incident, problem and change management following ITIL practices
• Perform root cause analysis and support systems across test, staging and production environments, including on-call / follow-the-sun rotations
• Automate deployments, recovery and operational tasks, and support blue/green and canary deployment strategies
• Build monitoring, alerting and observability frameworks, track SLOs/SLAs and plan capacity
• Operate systems on cloud and on-premise, including containerized and distributed systems, and support Linux and/or Windows environments
• Troubleshoot microservices, APIs and .NET / C# applications, manage runtime configuration and dependencies
• Take part in post-incident reviews, document playbooks and guide junior engineers

Required profile

• Experience as an SRE or in a similar production engineering role (typically 3+ years, adaptable to seniority)
• Strong production operations and incident management experience in mission-critical environments
• Good English communication skills and ability to collaborate across global teams

Required skills

• Linux and/or Windows Server, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk or similar
• Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Ansible
• Python, Shell, Go or similar; SQL/NoSQL databases
• ITIL familiarity and understanding of distributed systems and microservices
