Social Media Content Creator (MLB/NHL)

About the role

Sportskeeda, a global sports content platform owned by Absolute Sports (a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies), is looking for a social media person to help grow its presence. The role is remote, on a contract basis, with 9-hour shifts, 6 days per week. You will take ownership of the MLB and NHL social media pages after an onboarding period.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the assigned social media pages, keeping publishing consistent and content high quality
• Create posts, captions and content ideas tailored to each sport and its audience
• Cover live action: follow games, breaking news and major events and deliver timely, real-time content
• Work with the wider social media team to plan content, spot opportunities and improve page performance
• Develop content that increases reach, engagement and referral traffic
• Monitor trends, fan conversations and competitor approaches
• After onboarding, independently manage day-to-day responsibilities while collaborating with the team

Required profile

• A genuine interest in sports and willingness to learn about new leagues and competitions
• Excellent written and spoken English, with strong spelling, grammar and copywriting skills
• Experience managing social media accounts or creating content for social platforms
• Ability to work independently, make editorial decisions and respond quickly to breaking news
• Basic knowledge of digital marketing and social media analytics
• Personal computer and reliable internet connection
• Knowledge of US sports, especially MLB or NHL, is a plus; other major sports such as NFL, NBA, NASCAR or the Olympics are also welcome
