Solutions Architect - AI-Assisted Development

About the role

Plan A Technologies is hiring a Solutions Architect focused on AI-assisted development. The company is building an agentic AI development platform that embeds AI into software delivery workflows, from design and coding to testing, review and operations. The role sits at the intersection of software architecture, AI-assisted development and platform engineering, and is not a research or data-science position. At least 10+ years of experience as a Solutions Architect is required.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate AI solutions with major cloud AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic/Claude, Google Gemini) and architect provider-agnostic AI layers, including model abstraction, routing, fallback strategies and multi-model orchestration.
• Design and implement agentic AI systems, including single- and multi-agent architectures, planner/executor/reviewer loops, tool calling, and event-driven or workflow-based orchestration, with guardrails and human-in-the-loop mechanisms.
• Use AI to accelerate development (code generation, test creation, documentation) and define standards and patterns for developers, partnering with engineering teams to embed AI in daily workflows.
• Write and review production code (APIs, services, integrations) and design scalable, secure, observable systems where AI is a first-class component.
• Monitor and optimize AI usage (tokens, latency, throughput) and design controls to prevent cost explosion, with graceful degradation and safe failure modes.
• Design guardrails against prompt injection and data leakage, and set up logging, tracing and evaluation pipelines for AI-driven workflows.

Required profile

• BSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong background in software architecture and distributed systems, and hands-on coding experience (backend experience required).
• Practical experience integrating and operating LLM-based systems in production, and designing systems used by developers.
• Excellent verbal and written English, and strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
