Staff Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Amadeus is looking for a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join its global engineering organization supporting mission-critical airline platforms and services used worldwide. The role ensures the reliability, availability, scalability, performance and operational excellence of revenue-generating production systems, working with software engineers, infrastructure teams and product stakeholders. It follows a global follow-the-sun support model.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the availability, performance, scalability and stability of critical production systems.
• Lead incident response and coordinate resolution of service-impacting events.
• Investigate and resolve availability, latency, performance and efficiency issues, and conduct root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in on-call rotations and emergency incident response.
• Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting and observability platforms.
• Design, develop and maintain operational automation solutions.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for assigned applications, platforms and operational tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience supporting large-scale production environments in a 24x7 setting.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Web and application server technologies such as Apache, IIS, Tomcat and JBoss.
• Monitoring and observability platforms.
• Scripting and automation in Python, Shell, Ruby or similar.
