About the role

Pond & Company is seeking a mid‑level Structural Engineer to join its Bogotá office. The role focuses on the design and analysis of industrial steel buildings, mission‑critical facilities, and related structural systems.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or support design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry and foundation systems for industrial, commercial and mission‑critical projects.
• Prepare structural calculations, design criteria, technical reports, specifications and construction documents while coordinating with architectural, civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Perform seismic, wind, gravity and other load assessments, review steel connections, base plates and anchor systems, and support construction administration activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of progressive experience designing industrial steel structures and working in seismic and non‑seismic regions.
• Professional‑level proficiency in English and native‑level proficiency in Spanish.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, ETABS, SAP2000, Ram Connections, RISA, IDEA StatiCa.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards: IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360/341, ACI 318 and Colombian NSR‑10.
