Tax Compliance Manager – Americas

About the role

Opella is looking for a Tax & Compliance Manager to lead tax accounting and reporting across the Americas. You will ensure that A2R tax processes run smoothly at both local and GBS levels, while supporting continuous improvement and standardisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly tax closing and reporting in line with the group timetable.
• Perform tax calculations (VAT, WHT, Intrastat, income tax, deferred tax) and prepare related tax returns.
• Supervise hub accountants, provide coaching and ensure compliance with CHC policies, internal controls and SOX requirements.
• Maintain A2R master data (PCoA, tax MD) and support country finance heads on tax matters.
• Drive process improvements, contribute to global tax service vision and benchmark best practices.

Required profile

• 10+ years of tax accounting experience, preferably in an international, multicultural environment.
• Strong knowledge of GL accounting, monthly close, IFRS and local GAAPs (including US GAAP).
• Graduate degree in accounting or finance.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP ERP (iShift, CEP).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
