Technical Architect & Development Lead

About the role

Plan A Technologies, a global engineering firm that builds custom software and modernizes systems with its own AI agents, is looking for an experienced Technical Architect & Development Lead. The role leads the software development team, strengthens technical architecture and improves engineering practices, combining hands-on technical leadership, team management, architecture modernization and collaboration with Product Owners and IT leadership. It also involves helping shape the company's AI adoption strategy.

The position is fully remote, or you can come into one of the company's global offices depending on your preference.

Key responsibilities

• Identify architectural weaknesses and define a modernization and refactoring roadmap.
• Oversee software development practices to improve code quality, documentation and delivery efficiency.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and automated testing.
• Establish engineering standards, performance metrics and development best practices.
• Work with Product Owners, QA and IT leadership to align technical priorities with business objectives.
• Provide technical guidance for integrations, legacy modernization, data platforms and customer-facing applications.
• Explore AI tools to improve developer productivity and contribute to business-focused AI initiatives.
• Ensure scalable, secure and maintainable architecture across enterprise applications.

Required profile

• At least 10 years of hands-on software development experience, with deep expertise in C#/.NET in Agile environments.
• 5+ years in a technical leadership role, leading project delivery and supporting teams without a dedicated project manager.
• Proven ability to work across multiple time zones or with international teams is a plus.

Required skills

• Scalable, maintainable Azure-based applications using Azure Functions and serverless architectures.
• Strong expertise in Azure SQL Server, including designing and optimizing database structures.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Experience integrating and using AI tools in enterprise applications.
• CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
• Excellent verbal and written English, able to give clear technical explanations and demos.
