Transaction Monitoring Analyst – Remote (LATAM/APAC)

About the role

Bitfinex is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to protect the integrity of its platform by detecting and investigating financial crime risks across fiat and cryptocurrency transactions. The position is fully remote, targeting candidates in LATAM or APAC time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement transaction monitoring algorithms for AML, terrorism financing, sanctions and other compliance risks.
• Analyze alerts from fiat (wire and non‑wire) and crypto (on‑chain and off‑chain) trades, deposits and withdrawals, escalating urgent cases as needed.
• Prepare periodic reports on ML, TF and sanctions anomalies for senior compliance leadership.
• Collaborate with AML investigators, product teams and compliance managers to improve monitoring controls.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance, with solid understanding of AML/KYC/CTF policies, enhanced due diligence and sanctions.
• Familiarity with blockchain technology and cryptocurrency transaction flows.
• University degree and preferably CAMS/CBP designation.
• Strong analytical thinking, critical decision‑making and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Use of blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic or TRM.
• Proficient IT skills: Chrome, Open Search, Google Docs, Gmail, Microsoft Word and Excel.
